Free fall of a quantum many-body system

The quantum version of the free fall problem is a topic often skipped in undergraduate mechanics courses, because its discussion usually requires wavepackets built on Airy functions—a difficult computation. Here, contrary, we show that can be nicely simplified both for single particle and general many-body systems by making use gauge transformation corresponds to change reference frame from laboratory one comoving with falling system. Using this approach, an external gravitational potential reduces much simpler where there no longer any Schrödinger equation. It instructive see same procedure used subjected two-body interparticle function distance between particles. This provides helpful pedagogical example system whose dynamics analytically described simple terms.
